Steve Stucky not only wrote the title work on Elinor Frey’s album Dialoghi for us, but now teaches at Juilliard where Elinor went to school. This follows long tenures in composition at Cornell and over two decades as New Music Advisor to the Los Angeles Philharmonic where he collaborated closely with Esa-Pekka Salonen. We think affectionately of Esa-Pekka, Steve Stucky and Witold Lutosławski as “The Triumvirate.” Steve’s orchestral and choral works and now operas make their debuts at the major orchestras and concert halls around the world. He lives in New York.
